Location: Tampa, FL – Midtown
Work Schedule: 100% onsite
Contract Length: 6 months
Pay Rate: Up to $51/hr

Position Overview

The Contract Administrator III is responsible for the accurate preparation, solicitation, negotiation, award, and commercial management of contracts supporting the maintenance, expansion, and modernization of electric and natural gas infrastructure.

This role supports the full contract lifecycle, with a strong emphasis on contract development through execution. The position will work on a variety of contracts, including professional consulting services, software solutions, software-as-a-service, non-disclosure agreements, license agreements, architect and engineering services, construction services, and major engineered equipment purchases.

The Contract Administrator III performs responsibilities independently and with minimal supervision while working closely with project teams, internal stakeholders, contractors, and external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the bid evaluation process, coordinating commercial evaluations with technical evaluations.

  • Prepare award recommendations, formalize final agreements, and coordinate proper contract execution.

  • Provide contract administration support throughout contractor performance.

  • Negotiate change orders, claims, and dispute resolutions.

  • Review invoices for compliance with contract terms.

  • Monitor contractor compliance with applicable lien laws.

  • Prepare contract closeout documentation.

  • Serve as a liaison with Enterprise Security, Legal, and Risk Management.

  • Work with project teams to perform due diligence on potential contractors and assess their technical and commercial capability to successfully meet contract requirements.

  • Apply working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances related to procurement practices.

  • Manage multiple contracts while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders throughout the contracting process.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 4 years of direct experience performing responsibilities related to:

    • Construction

    • Project engineering

    • Information technology

    • Contract management

    • Project management

  • Demonstrated experience with writing, developing, negotiating, and administering contracts, with a strong focus on contract development through execution.

  • Experience supporting contracts for areas such as:

    • Consulting services

    • Software solutions

    • SaaS/hosted services

    • NDAs and license agreements

    • Architecture and engineering services

    • Construction services

    • Major engineered equipment

  • Experience leading RFx sourcing events.

  • Experience with contract negotiation and commercial terms.

  • Knowledge of contract delivery methods such as design-build, EPC, design/engineering, construction, and design-and-furnish.

  • Knowledge of contract types including:

    • Lump sum

    • Unit price

    • Cost plus fixed fee

    • Cost plus incentive fee

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of an ERP or SAP environment.

  • Experience with contract management software.

  • Familiarity with electronic signature tools.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has strong end-to-end contract experience and can independently manage the development, solicitation, negotiation, award, execution, administration, and closeout of complex contracts.

Experience supporting construction, engineering, energy, utilities, infrastructure, or technology contracts would be particularly relevant.
