Sr. Staff Accountant

Sr. Staff Accountant
Bolingbrook, IL (Remote in CST zone)
W2 contract role
6 Months with opportunity to extend
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm Central
Pay Rate: $43/HR

Position Summary:
Work exclusively reconciling invoices. The ideal candidate will have some Planview and Ariba experience, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in processing invoices. Strong Excel is required. Attention to detail is a must.

Responsibilities:

• Review and reconcile IT invoices based on hours entered in PPM tool (Planview)
• Vouch labor invoices against timesheets to ensure they comply with accounting policy (Capital vs. Expense)
• Review contracts and SOWs for pertinent details
• Create contracts or purchase requisitions in Ariba based on information in SOW
• Work with vendors to monitor aging items and to ensure invoices are paid in a timely manner
• Work collaboratively with Project Management Team
• Assist with internal and external audit requests
• Help ensure compliance with internal control policies and procedures
• Work with business partners to obtain information supporting accruals and adjustments

Required Skills:

• 1-3 years of accounting or relevant experience.
• Solid analytical skills and technical accounting knowledge.
• Self-starter with willingness to work hands-on.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
• BS degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA a plus.
• Proficient in Excel and Word, SAP or Ariba knowledge is a plus.
• Planview and Ariba experience.
• Candidates with strong invoice reconciliation and Excel skills, attention to detail.
