System Tester & Trainer
Detroit, MI (Hybrid/Onsite Tues-Thurs)
W2 contract role
12 Months then eligible for Contract renewal

Position Summary
The System Tester & Trainer is a dual-function role responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of enterprise systems through structured testing, while also developing and delivering end-user training programs that drive successful system adoption. This position requires a technically proficient professional who can translate complex system behavior into clear, engaging learning experiences for a diverse workforce.

Key Responsibilities
System Testing

• Develop, document, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for new and updated systems.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT) across enterprise applications.
• Identify, log, and track defects using defect management tools; collaborate with development teams to facilitate timely resolution.
• Validate system configurations, data integrity, and end-to-end workflows in staging and production environments.
• Maintain test documentation and ensure test artifacts are version-controlled and audit-ready.
• Coordinate and support system patching, upgrades, and release validation activities.
• Collaborate with business analysts and subject matter experts to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria.

Training Development & Delivery

• Conduct training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and determine the appropriate training approach for various user groups.
• Design, develop, and maintain training materials including instructor-led guides, e-learning modules, job aids, quick reference cards, and user manuals.
• Deliver engaging classroom, virtual, and on-the-job training sessions to end users, supervisors, and technical staff
• Tailor instructional content and delivery style to accommodate different learning styles, experience levels, and audience backgrounds.
• Evaluate training effectiveness using assessments, feedback surveys, and performance metrics; continuously improve program content.
• Maintain a current library of training resources and update materials in response to system changes, updates, or regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate training schedules, logistics, and participant enrollment to maximize attendance and minimize operational disruption.
• Serve as a go-to resource for post-training support, providing reinforcement coaching and troubleshooting assistance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in software or systems testing (QA/UAT).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience designing and delivering end-user or technical training programs.
• Demonstrated experience writing test plans, test cases, and defect reports.
• Experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, HP ALM).
